I have a TD5 Land Rover Discovery in the cold weather the car has failed to start on a few occasions but every now and again it starts no problem, plus the alarm has been playing up also, going off on its own now and again.
I thought Glow Plugs, Battery tested to be ok, shorting alarm. battery earth shorting, maybe not starting cos of the immobiliser...

You say it starts now and again, on the times it doesn't start does it turn over, does the "ignition" light come on? Edit your question %26amp; give us a few more details please. Battery is most likely as they can test to be OK however they will lack the oomph needed to start the engine on a cold day.
