Hopefully it will not be your first car. Your first car isn't supposed to give you nightmares for the rest of your life. I could go on about the lack of quality in these vehicles but I won't. I'll say this: You're buying used. It's going to be cheap and have high mileage. Look up the part costs for land rovers. Now take the purchase price (should be around 6k in most areas) and multiply times .5 (50%) that's the repair that you'll pay in the first year and a half (maybe sooner). The real cost of buying the car is 9k. If you can't afford that additional 3k now and don't save cash for that period it's just going to sit in your driveway and you'll be at home watching reruns of judge judy.



Buy a honda or toyota 4 cylinder (or acura). They ain't sexy but it won't leave you stranded and they're cheap and easy to fix.
