How do you tune a 2003 land rover discovery 2 ?

spark plug wires disappears behind the engine.what kind of tool to tune the ECU?How do you tune a 2003 land rover discovery 2 ?
need otc scanner. for ecu. Basic hand tools to perform the tune upHow do you tune a 2003 land rover discovery 2 ?
Do you mean "tune" or "tune up"?

There's nothing to "tune", if you mean trying to extract more performance. The ECUs are self-tuning, so they use the oxygen sensors in the exhaust to adjust the mixture.

There are companies that make reprogrammed ECUs, but they tend to be very expensive and yield negligible improvements. There is a diagnostics tool called Rovacom that can be purchased by non-mechanics, but you won't find that there are many adjustments you can make, and tweaking with them will generally make the engine run more poorly.

If you mean "tune up" as in periodic maintenance, there are a few things you can do... but I'd suggest that if you plan to do your own tune up, you should probably buy a shop manual for your car. The tune-up procedures are unfortunately more complex than for most cars. Changing the spark plugs and the oil/filter, and airfilter is fairly easy, but you should periodically change the spark plug wires too, and as you noticed, they disappear behind the engine... you have to partially disassemble the intake manifold to get at the coil packs to disconnect/reconnect the spark plug wires.

If you are trying to help a car that's not running well, replacing plugs and wires DOES have a decent chance of fixing a rough-running engine, but it's not a 30-minute job.

There is no user-replaceable fuel filter. The fuel system relies entirely on the screen fitted over the fuel pump inside the fuel tank. If you suspect dirty fuel, you may need to have the tank drained/flushed.
