Do the catalytic converters in Land Rover Discoveries tend to rattle?

If its the heat shield that's rattling then its okay, if not and the rattling in inside the converter it needs replaced. This can be checked and usually a muffler shop will do it for free. Hope it doesn't need replaced though because they can be expensive, my 99 chevy would cost $800 for both.Do the catalytic converters in Land Rover Discoveries tend to rattle?

there is a heat shield made of sheet metal that comes loose and rattles.this happens to alot of vehicles and not just a toyota thing.just have someone tack weld it back in place.Do the catalytic converters in Land Rover Discoveries tend to rattle?
A rattle in a cat. convertor is either a heat shield or the cat. has gone bad have an exhaust shop check them if they are bad, have them put new ones in that are at least rated for 5800gvwr trucks.then check the emmisions as some thing cause them to fail
They can fall apart inside, but it's usually just the heat shield. If you tack weld it back on it will just break loose again. The best fix is a couple of hose clamps going all the way around.
