How do i remove a steering wheel from '95 Land Rover discovery with airbags?

i need to remove the steering wheel, but cant see how to do it unless i have to prise the airbag cover open, which i fear will damage the airbag?How do i remove a steering wheel from '95 Land Rover discovery with airbags?
Disconnect both battery leads for AT LEAST 10 minutes before commencing work.



At the back of the wheel, you'll find two Torx bolts, undo them and pull the airbag assembly clear, disconnecting the wiring plug as you do so.

Just to add - do not switch on the ignition again until the aibag is back in place or the warning light will come on the dash and will not go out until a dealer has sorted it for you.

I suggest you take it to a garage and let them take all the risk. If a garage breaks it they have to replace it.



I have always figured with cars that if you don't know what you're doing, don't touch, you'll only make it worse.
