Would a land rover defender 90 be a pricey first car?

i want a land rover defender 90 (any year between 1986-1999) for my first car and for off road use what costs should i expect? eg - mpg, insurance, tax etcWould a land rover defender 90 be a pricey first car?
Pretty pricey, but a brilliant off-roader. You can try looking at ex-army ones, or second hand ones generally. People buy them and then need more room for kids and things and sell them for a 110



MPG can be terrible in low-ratio and not that good on the road.



Insurance will depend on your age. You could register it to your Dad if you're under 25.
