How do you feel about TATA buying Jag and Land Rover?

Would you buy a Jag now?

If you had a choise between them and Audi/BMW/Merc would you buy one.

I'll tell you what that new XF looks brilliant. How do you feel about TATA buying Jag and Land Rover?
You know, this may sound odd, but I'd rather the Indians got them than the Americans. The upper-class Indian people I've met - quite a few - have impressed me with their culture and civilized manners, something which most Americans have failed to do. As Jaguar is about a certain culture and civilization, I have far more confidence in the ability and willingness of the Indians to respect that. Much the same goes for Land-Rover.

The Americans do not have enough history to know that the things of the past often have a greater value than the innovations of today. The Indians, on the other hand, have four or five thousand years of history, and know what to keep, as well as what to change.

Back when, my grandfather had a Jag MkX registered "UN 2". Pity my father slod the thing... (Seethes)
As an asian decendant ,I have to be proud. How do you feel about TATA buying Jag and Land Rover?
Wouldn't have bought a JAG before - Old Mans Sedan

Audi RS4 - my order is in already (with the wife that is...) - all you need to do is test drive it and it will convince the biggest skeptic
mmmm.....

I'm concerned that the rest of the world might think that the image has now been "Tarnished".

I hope this is not the case, India as a country are booming at the moment, the recently released Forbes "Rich List" - showed that in the top 10 richest people in the world, 4 were from India (I think one of them was Mr TATA himself).

I am sure that TATA will do a top Job.How do you feel about TATA buying Jag and Land Rover?
Im not a fan of Jag or the Landie so it doesnt really affect me , but im sure the standards will still me maintained...

give a scooby or an astra opc anyday...
I do not like Land Rover, but really do like Jaguar, well I do not think it is a bad idea, I think they will do an extra good job just because they know people will be critical because it is made in India now. Perhaps it will be cheaper as well, think labour is much cheaper in India than in the UK. Look at China they are making most of the worlds commodities.
Well. What can you say !! The world has become a global economy for sure, with China taking the lead. I'd but a nice dirt bike instead. More fun.......
Latest Peugeot love them and a land-cruiser, love them too.:)
I prefer German makes

For the simple reason a English car still standing in the Showroom with oil leaks not that the car is bad but with the oil and petrol prices no thanks a Jac say liter- liter-liter and Tata I do not know ,it sounds bye bye
I prefer an ISUZU bakkie
OMG ! You must be joking ! There goes my x-type dreams for ever ! A chili pip English classic .............? I don't think so !
Jags are one of the things close to my heart! But you are right, people will look very critically at it now, a big part of the attraction was that it was such a classical ENGLISH beauty.

Still... let's see. Only time will tell, and when the money rolls in, I am still having one for me and for my dad! ;-)
None of them, best cars in the world.....Italian...... Maserati!!!!!!! For now, I will have to make do with the FIAT, LOL!!!!
To tell you the truth, no i wouldnt buy a Jag, yes it is a nice car and everything, but i'll still prefer Mec not because of its looks but because of the quality. TATA is going to screw up Jag and its just going to put the cheapest quality inside the Jag.
Road runner, Lise K and Dicko all have good points.

Give me an audi any day.
About the Jag i agree with Sins but my personal favorite is still a Mercedes
